The Chianina Ciclostorica in Marciano della Chiana is an unmissable cycling event, born in 2015, which attracts fans of vintage bicycles and pre-1987 vintage clothing from all over Europe. The 2024 edition will be held this year from June 7th to 9th.
The event combines the passion for vintage bicycles with the exploration of the suggestive Valdichiana area. The race offers different categories and routes suitable for all levels of experience, leading participants along the unpaved roads and breathtaking views of Valdichiana Aretina, passing through the seven municipalities of the area.
Before the race, there will be two days of events dedicated to historical cycling values, with talks, guided tours and vintage markets. The event is inspired by the competitive spirit and sporting heroism of great champions such as Bartali and Coppi, celebrating their sporting and human feats. The Chianina Ciclostorica is not just a sporting event, but an authentic moment of cultural sharing that combines sport, passion and territory.
A curious and fascinating aspect of the event is the national Chianina Comics exhibition, an event that accompanies the race and celebrates the art of comics and humorous graphics on the theme of 'two wheels'.
